Great music should live beyond its first hearing.

Uncharted Opus develops recording projects designed not only to document exceptional contemporary music, but to help it return to the concert stage.

Three recordings of music by Dutch composer Joey Roukens, arriving across 2027 and 2028. Each release is a new point of entry; together, they form a sustained case for this music in performance.

Building a longer life for exceptional music.

Uncharted Opus is an independent recording and repertoire initiative supporting contemporary music through thoughtful production, sustained advocacy and practical pathways to performance.

Before establishing Uncharted Opus, founder Ed Schneider personally supported recordings of Joey Roukens's Visions at Sea with Kinetic Ensemble and Forgotten Dutch Melodies with Apollo Chamber Players. Those projects form the prelude to Uncharted Opus's first executive production: a full album devoted to Roukens's chamber music, to be released by Azica Records.

Uncharted Opus is an independent supporter and producer and does not represent Joey Roukens or the participating ensembles.
